Children and Grief  VIEW RECORDING

Presented by Stephanie O'Malley, Educational Psychologist and Education DESTY Founder

Grief can appear in many forms and for many reasons, particularly for children. During this webinar, we will consider the situations that can trigger grief for a child including death, separation or other losses. We will review some of the responses to grief that children may have and explore number of practical ways that we can support children to cope with feelings of grief whatever the situation.

Building Trust  VIEW RECORDING

Presented by Stephanie O'Malley, Educational Psychologist and Education DESTY Founder

As you know, developing trust with a child is key to the success of DESTY Island. During this recording of our live training event you will learn about an evidence-based model for developing trust and a secure relationship with children. There is a particular focus on working with traumatised and vulnerable children during this session.

DESTY and a Solution-Focused Approach  VIEW RECORDING

Presented by Stephanie O'Malley, Educational Psychologist and Education DESTY Founder

A Solution-focused Approach is aimed at supporting people to move towards the future that they want and to learn what can be done differently by using their existing skills, strategies and ideas rather than focusing on problems. The Solution-focused Approach model was used extensively in the development of the DESTY Island Emotional Resilience programme.
This Mentor Skills Development live event includes a training input on how the DESTY Mentors can ask Solution-focused Questions young people begin moving towards the future they want and help them make positive changes in their lives.
